Description
Everything is connected and follows certain laws. This is the theory behind ‘the map’ and ‘your compass’ developed by Roslyn Snyder (1999 & 2000). Scientifically, the laws are from quantum chaos (physics and mathematics), but these laws were practiced by traditional Aboriginal society. By understanding these laws and integrating the old with the new we are given a way forward. By applying ‘the map’ and ‘your compass’ we are teaching strategies to move forward and help others to move forward.
About ‘Theory and Applications’ workshop
The first day focuses on understanding how everything is connected, we will have activities to show how you are connected into everything, the importance of living at the centre of your life, and discuss both the science and the Aboriginal ways of working. We begin the second day by outlining how the map and compass have been applied for use with, individuals, families and communities for chronic health, leadership programs mental health and even in prison. The second half of the day is the opportunity for workers to have their questions answered, and/or develop a way for them to apply the map and compass in their work.
